Bandipur Rural Municipality-2, Tanahun, Nepal
Bandipur is a renowned Tourism area. It is one of the municipalities in the Tanahun district, (Gandaki Province) and located in the Western development region. It is situated at the elevation of 1,030m above Marsyangdi River valley, 143km to the west of Kathmandu and 80km to the east of Pokhara. People have named Bandipur as Pahad Ki Rani (Queen of Hills) as it has been surrounded by large hill all around. Bandipur is only 8km far from Dumre (Prithvi Highway).
The Bandipur Bazar is one of the attractions as you can see old architecture. The bazaar area is paved by the stones and the houses are designed similar to the houses in Bhaktapur which adds more beauty to this place. The Bandipur bazar is well managed as no vehicles are allowed to enter the bazar premises. There is a parking facility for vehicles.
You can see a large Pipal tree while you arrive at Bandipur Bus Park. Just in Infront of the Pipal tree you will see a small gate with the board "Mohoriya Community Homestay". This is the entrance gate for entering into the Mohoriya Community Homestay. This homestay is named after Mohoriya, a small village of Bandipur Gaupalika. Mohoriya community homestay is operated by 9 houses and consists of 30 rooms which has the capacity to hold 110 guests and provides comfortable accommodation service.
Dumre Bazar that lies between Pokhara and Kathmandu is the main point from where one can get access to public vehicles up to Bandipur. People can get different types of vehicles including local buses and taxi. The local bus service leaves to Bandipur from Dumre bazar in the interval of one hour.
